I am negan
The walking dead is known with it’s own mix formula which is hype, sleep and then extra hype again, and that is what exactly happened. We waited a long time for the season premiere after that major cliffhanger in season six, and in that aspect it did not disappoint. The introduction of Negan (the main antagonist of the season) was well remembered as the best in any recent show with his charismatic madness and his best weapon Lucille. After that we come to know how sadistic and lunatics are the saviors (Negan) and the way they treat the other faction to gain food and weapon. Also other oppressed factions are introduced and some side stories are told but all of that is just like filler episodes to serve a purpose by the end of the season.
So again back with the formula, the first few episodes had its momentum and surprise events. However in the middle episodes it was stale and routine and didn’t add much to the plot, and again towards the end the hype came back with hope of season eight will fix the problems of its predecessor.
