The voice of being bullied
A silent voice was one the hyped movies in 2016 since its adapted from a renowned manga and animated by a famous studio, so is that a success formula? I can say yes and no at the same time. To begin with, the yes aspect is the beautiful and smooth animation both in characters and background. Original soundtrack emphasized some scenes but didn’t hit to that emotional level. The transformation of the protagonist from a bully to someone who seeks redemption was good.
At the same time in the no aspect the whole plot was not fully realized (although I didn’t read the manga) but I noticed it was squeezed. It would’ve been better if it was a series than a movie to explore the characters and plot more. The supporting cast had some irrational behavior and were generally weak. The third act was underwhelming and when you finish, you don’t feel satisfied.
To conclude, the movie looks superb, however, not for the plot and motives that felt many things were missing. But by the end of the day it deserves to be watched as there are some moments to be remembered.
